ECHO...echo...echo

The heart is the most selfless of all organs. All others depend on it to function, but the heart contracts spontaneously, unprompted, pumping, beating, giving life to the body. On
the night we almost lost her, when all her other systems were shutting down, that broken heart of hers continued to sustain her life until it could be mended.
I am amazed by this sweet little heart.
And this little Sweetheart!

This week we headed to Charleston for a six month follow up with several of Evie's specialists. Where most kids this age can be pacified with lollipops and cartoons and sit cooperatively through the 30 minute procedure, Evie has earned a reputation with all the Doctors at MUSC. Knowing that this feisty girl will not let anyone wearing scrubs touch her, they wasted no time giving her her "sleepy juice" to sedate her. (I need some of that stuff for naptime at home!!)

My own heart always lodges in my throat awaiting the report to come back. You just never know! We are thanking the Lord for another good report on our girl. She has a bit of a leak that is marginally larger than the last ECHO. But, this is common after her repair and the doctors feel comfortable just monitoring it to see if it grows.

My little sweeties in the Charleston Harbor

I marvel at Gods continued faithfulness in her life. She brings so much joy! She loves to wrestle with Tristan. Squints her eyes and folds her hands when we pray. Adores having her toes painted. Calls everyone "Ma-ma". Insists on selecting a bow and shoes first thing every morning. Still doesn't sleep through the night. Carries her blanket everywhere. Frequently raids the snack cabinet. Has mommy wrapped around her little finger!

Yep, Mags has been sedated for her last 3 echos. It makes for a long morning but at least they can get good pictures. Glad everything looks pretty good. She gorgeous! I'm going through all of Maggie's pictures to make a video for her pink party and I've been doing my share of marveling as well. God is so good, and I'm so thankful for the work He's done in her life.

So glad to hear that you had a good report. I am the mommy to another Palmetto heart and we love the folks at MUSC!!!! Zach is 3 1/2 and awaiting his Fontan. I am always glad to connect with other heart moms, especially right here in SC!

SO glad to hear a good report! Lorelei has to be sedated too. She can't even sit still for 2 minutes so they can just take a picture with the ECHO. I will be getting my schedule this week and we will definitely get together soon! Love to you and give Evie a hug from Lorelei!

So glad Evie had a good report! Feisty is good...she is a tough little cookie. That's definitely a good thing. I think all heart kids have to be. :)

You guys are always in our prayers and we look forward to seeing new pics of your sweethearts.

Big Heart Hugs,

What a sweet baby girl! You know we are so thrilled with Evie's great report & continue to pray for many more in the future!

I don't think I'll ever forget her little "oooooo" with her big eyes on Saturday when we were showing each other our rings! Such a special memory for me...

Love you~ Rebecca

What an amazing post...she sounds so much like my little miracle baby abigayl who is now 4 and also raids the fridge for snacks in the middle of the night doesn't sleep through the night and is just one tough little cookie...you wouldn't know all the struggles she has been through since birth by looking at her....god sure works in mysterious ways....Praises for the good reports so far...
