Precious Praying Friends
Another roller coaster day for Zachary. Many of you have asked if it is MRSA. It was confirmed late yesterday that it is. This strain of staph is highly resistant to antibiotics. The infection is in his bloodstream which has allowed it to spread so aggressively through his body. We have been told that surgery is likely the strongest combat to this disease. He will have to have dressing changes every couple days which will be performed under anesthesia because of the intensity of pain involved. It is also not uncommon that further removal of tissue is required when they get in and see the wound and assess if the infection is continuing to grow.
Zachary's kidneys are showing signs of compromise. The prayer is that this is because of the mega doses of antibiotics which they are being required to process. Pray that the infection is not directly attacking the kidneys! He is being closely monitored with frequent ultrasounds. Mother said he really looks worn out today. The infection, drugs, lack of sleep, trauma and stress are taking a toll! The good news is that his pain has been under control - big praise!!
They were pursuing a transportation to Emory earlier today but I believe they have decided to hold off. There is a team of doctors at his current hospital that seem to be cooperating well to address the issues at hand.
My two out-of-town brothers Eric and DJ are en-route to Atlanta now. The rest of the family is taking shifts at the hospital by Zachary's side. Please keep praying for Brittany as she juggles the frequent trips to the hospital and her 6 precious children that need her at home.
Thank you friends for standing with us in prayer. We have seen firsthand the healing hand of our Lord. We are praying again that He would intervene.
Habakkuk 3:2
Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord.
Renew them in our day,
in our time make them known.
Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love.
