Snow in the South on our beautiful "Golden Pond".
Here's to my Ohio aunts and to you Suzie, Kelly, Karen and Anne....dear friends who weather this stuff so bravely on a regular basis in Michigan and Kiev.
I am, admittedly, a fair-weather-friend. This was my kind of snowfall though!....6 beautiful inches when we woke up and gone by 2:00pm!
The fact that Evie wore socks on her hands (instead of mittens) and I had to put plastic bags with rubber bands around her ankles over her shoes proves that we are not as well equipped for this stuff as we used to be when we lived in Ukraine!:-)
My cute little frozen snow bunny!
It was a delightful weekend. Homemade pizza, a huge pot of chili, fudge squares, Valentine cookies, heart shaped pancakes and hot chocolate and watching the Olympics by the fire as a family!
But lest I sound too idealistic, let me clarify. I was outside for a total of about 30 minutes (just long enough to get cute photos of my kids.) I gladly volunteered to bring the little girls in for a hot bath....and then protested winter by donning flip flops, paining my toenails, and sewing summer dresses for my girls!
That was fun....now bring on the heat!!
Goodbye to our Beautiful Blizzard of 2010!
