Charleston

The salty mist over the bay. The Dogwoods budding. The Palmettos swaying in the breeze. This is our beloved Charleston!
It will always hold a special place in my heart!
And always brings a flood of memories when we return to the city where we spent a month with our baby battling for her life in the hospital.
A million memories bombard me as we walk the cobblestone streets and pass places we stole away to as diversions when the walls of the sterile hospital closed in on us.
We made a quick overnight trip this weekend to show an out of town guest our favorite US city. The tulip trees and magnolias are in full bloom and the spring green is bursting through. The window boxes are overflowing and the streets are full of southern charm and tranquility!
Everytime we go, C and I vow that someday, we will retire in one of those big old houses with a wrap around porch where we can sit in our rocking chairs and watch the sun set over the water and grow old together.
This beautiful city, dear to our hearts will always be a place of reflection.....
.....looking back with deepest gratitude on all God has done!

We love it there, too, and have had the same discussion of making a home there. It is one of my 'within reach' fantasies and I cannot think of a dreamier place to be. It's remarkable how a city can leave such a lasting mark on its visitors.

I love Charleston! My husband had an internship in Charlotte last summer and we went there for a weekend. We are moving to Rock hill, SC in August, working in Charlotte, and I am so excited to be able to take many weekends there. Its a little piece of paradise!
