Evangeline is our fifth blessing from the Lord. She was born in January 2008 with an undiagnosed Congenital Heart Defect; Transposition of the Great Arteries. At 10 days old, she presented with respiratory distress. In the ER she crashed and a team of a dozen doctors worked through the night to revive her tiny body as it went into shock. After diagnosing her broken heart, she was Life Flighted to MUSC in Charleston for open heart surgery. She has since battled Congestive Heart Failure, Chronic Lung Disease, severe reflux, Failure to Thrive and auto-immune disorders.
Her name means "Peace", though her short life has been anything but! We sense that God is teaching us "peace in the storm" through her little life! She is our precious miracle and a testimony to the power of prayer and Gods gracious healing. This is the journal of her life and those who love her.
You amaze me you were able to catch this all on film! Did she not see you when her little eyes peeped open? This is so precious, it's like watch a really slow moving film :)
She is so precious and tiny. Oh how I crave another baby! Eek. Anyway.. my neice is also Gigi.. nicknamed from Giselle. She is such a wild, loving, sweet to everyone girl. My sister gave birth to her in June 2003 and a few months later found herself battling her meth addiction. My parents kept her and took care of her and finalized the adoption just after her 2nd birthday. She and Kamryn are like sisters and she is over all the time! That's why you'll see her on the blog alot. :)
I'm loving all your monogrammed everything for the girls.. where do you get everything? I told Carson that someday, when we have another one, it just has to be a little girl!! We will wait for God's timing. It took us 8 years for Owen, so I'm hoping our wait isn't as long this time around.
