Feathering the Nest (GIVEAWAY!!)

Its been nearly 10 months since we landed in Bangkok in our very Thai little apartment......and its finally starting to really feel like “home”.  I have a couple of precious friends - JK Vinyl Designs and Avec Dieu Couture - boutique owners who collaborated with me to do some “feathering of the nest” and make this apartment a home.

Im excited that today Im going to get to give away a $30 shopping spree so that you can select something from their shops as well to decorate a room in your house......

Thought it would be fun to share a peek of our abode with friends and family far away that we will probably never get to welcome through our doors.  So......come take a “tour of homes” with me....(aka, a “spin around the apartment”)

Entry Way:

Some furniture came with our rented apartment and Ill be honest...Im not a fan of dark wood and teak.  But some loving touches made our blank walls and dark cabinets look great!  I added a vinyl decal to the mirror in our entrance nook.  You all know my obsession with monograms.  Its a nice little welcome corner now.

Dining Room

I love how these vinyl decals really dress up a wall and make a statement.
As we didnt move much with us.....and its pricy to outfit a new space, I was left with some very big blank walls!  JK Vinyl Designs takes custom requests, so I asked for a decal of a significant verse....  Its a Fernando Ortega song “Prayer for Home” that was played at our wedding and seemed very appropriate in the place we gather as a family for meals.

Then the lovely Avec Dieu Couture added some fun linen touches....table runner and napkins in a beautiful grey and white damask. The floors in the dining room are a light grey, so the accent pieces really tie the colors together nicely!  A bit of southern hospitality in our South East Asian home :)

Guest Room

And speaking of the south....I have a little nautical theme going on in our guest room.  Throw pillows provided by Avec Dieu Couture and wall decal by JK Vinyl Designs.  I love how this room is coming together!  Im a beach-girl at heart and the guest room dubbs as my studio, so its a little breath of fresh salty sea air when Im in it!  If there are any other beach-bums out there, you should check out their nautical fabric stash here.

Girls Room

Im realizing that Abi’s days are numbered in the “girls dorm”, but I so love having all my "Little Women" sharing this sister room for a bit longer.  Lime and pink.  This room screams girly-girl!!  There is ample closet space in this room which is ideal for all the girl wardrobe needs.  JK Vinyl Designs designed these little chandelier decals at my requests and they make for such a fun little “dressing room” corner.  Thanks to Ikea for affordable bedding....and a woodworker we hired to make triple bunk beds....we are set!   Slumber parties - bring em' on!!

Gigi is practicing....almost ready to move into a big girl bed in the girls room:)

Master Bedroom

My White House/Black Market room:)  Love the classic feel and simple color scheme.  There were a dozen fun fabrics to pick from at Avec Dieu Couture, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted for throw pillows and bed runner.  The headboard embellishment and sconces from JK Vinyl Designs were fashioned to compliment our bed beautifully!  I love that it makes a statement and accentuates our headboard, making it look much more elaborate than the basic Ikea bed frame we bought!  Really pleased with how it all came together!

Tristan's Room

.....is currently “under construction” :)  A leak in the bathroom resulted in removing the whole ceiling.  And repeated requests for the maintenance guy to come hang a few things on the wall for me have not been responded to:)  His room will have to be a post in itself at a later time! (.....to be continued:)
