Our THIRD Fabulous Friday Freebie is a
$30 Gift Certificate from Oh la la Baby.
Aah...the lost art of handwork and crochet!
When Evie was born, she had half a dozen new blankets. One monogrammed with her name. A quilt made by a lady at our church. A soft minky we received as a shower gift. All of these I repeatedly find discarded on the floor in the morning after I cover her up at night. It is a second-hand, yellow crochet blanket that someone handmade when Abi was born which has been passed down through Britain...
to Isabelle...
and now to Evie...
...she now will not leave home without.
Handmade with every loving stitch, Oh la la Baby is offering a generous gift certificate to apply toward a purchase at their lovely online boutique. In addition to a sweet selection of blankets, sweaters and even darling dresses, Oh la la Baby will also take custom orders to accommodate special requests for baby apparel.
With a lovely assortment of knits and merino wool choices, Oh la la Baby can transform a ball of yarn into baby's favorite fall shrug, beanie or scarf. Contact Oh la la Baby to set up a custom order. Shop between now and next Friday and save 10% off your purchase when you mention Fabulous Friday Freebies. Discount will be reflected after purchase.

We all have a special little one in our lives. Baby dearest. That cute toddler next door. Your niece on the other side of the US. Treat someone special to a handmade gift. You'll love watching those sweet chubby fingers poking through the holes of their favorite blankie as baby dozes off to never-never-land!

i have many stories about blankets! it is a tradition in my family to give a nice, soft blanket with silky trim at the shower. my mom, all four sisters, and now my two boys have "special" blankies that we sleep with still! as we have gotten older we get new blankets, but keep the original blanket/blankets put up. its kind of cool to be able to get my baby blanket out and see what i would snuggle at night.

I had a favorite blanket while growing up, but got rid of it once I went to college, both of my kids have favorite blankets and it just reminds me of the days I had with mine.

I used to watch a show/movie called "Baby Stories" everytime I went to my nanny's(grandma) house. In this movie there is a song about a baby and a blankie that I sing to my boys: "Don't wash my blankie, don't take it away. I want to drag it around while I play. To me it's okay, dirty and gray. Just don't wash my blankie today."

At our house we love ourselves a good blankie!

We have an awesome quilt in our family that was made for my oldest brother, then passed down to my next brother, then me, then my sister. My great-grandmother made it - she died when I was 5 years old, so it's a great remembrance of her, and still a sturdy quilt today, despite all the abuse it's taken.

My blanket story is of the first blanket I made. It all started with me wanting to knit a baby blanket for my cousin I thought it would be easy for me. Considering I was not setting out to make any sort of design. Well I was wrong. I used a big needle with tiny thread and then I was a bit to tight in the beginning and to lose at the end. So in the end the blanket was all misshapen and funny looking but I still gave it to her. I since have become better and have the needle to thread size down perfectly.

A blanket story... we once lost a blanket (that was tied on top) on the Freeway, I remember watching it go as a kid from the back of our station wagon! anne molino at hotmail dot com

Our little girl has a blanket that her grandma made that she had to sleep with for the first year and a half of her life. It's just REALLY warm, so this past summer, we slowly phased it out of the picture. Now that it's getting cold again, she uses it every once in a while.

The striped shirt is so cute. The blue jacket would also be cute over a little sundress.
